James M. McArdle - Associate


Jim is experienced in representing financial institutions in business and consumer cases. This includes contested confirmation hearings, evidentiary hearings on compliance with default order, and reclamation claim reconciliations. He has worked for over two decades representing both debtors and creditors in consumer bankruptcy cases. He has represented debtors in Chapter 7 and 13 cases, as well as represented credit unions, mortgage companies, and large corporations as creditors in consumer bankruptcy cases. In the course of his consumer law career, he has tried innumerable dischargeability cases, and motion practice is an integral part of his weekly assignments.

Since joining Kilpatrick & Associates, Jim has represented creditors in cases in Chapters 7, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 15. He also represents three Chapter 7 bankruptcy panel trustees for the Eastern District of Michigan and before that represented four bankruptcy panel trustees in the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division.

Jim is ECF qualified and also speaks fluent Spanish.
